I have reduced my wheel size down to 20" from 21, with a set of wheels fitted with 255/55 Michelin Latitude Sport.
The Pirelli Verde All Seasons fitted to my RRS are excellent for wear rate and performance.
I tend to keep a pair of wheels with tyres as 'spares', so want to buy some new tyres.
What are the views on the Michelins v Pirellis, does one have better mpg than the other etc?
Is anyone else towing a lot that can reccomend either, or an alternative?
My D4 Commercial is primarily a towing vehicle running 40psi at the rear and 34 for the front.

No experience with Disco 4 specifically, but I have always found Michelin to outlast all others, and wear flat. Pirelli always noisy and soft like Bridgestone and the other jap tyres.

Finally got round to changing from Michelin to Pirelli on my D4 Commercial.
The ride on the Michelins was very smooth and quiet, ideal for a passenger vehicle, however I was not impressed with the obvious flexing of the tyres when loaded with a 3 and a bit ton trailer behind me.
The most noticeable difference between these two tyres was/is the sidewall rigidity.
If you pick up the Michelin tyre by one sidewall, it will flex outwards, do the same with the Pirelli and the sidewall will remain vertical.
My view only, but I would suggest the Michelin gives a better and quieter ride than the Pirelli, but the latter is more robust and likely to last longer.
I might possibly change from Pirelli to Michelin on my RRS for a smoother ride though.
