Thinking of upgrading- what’s best?
Hi All
After a couple of years with my 59 plate D4 I’m thinking of upgrading to a newer higher spec car. I’ve seen a couple of HSE luxury’s which look great but what is the best spec? Unfortunatly money is an object so absolute top budget of £25k. Ideally would like a MY14 onward car as well.
Anyone any ideas so I do t set my expectations to high? What can 20-25k get me? Happy to go private or trade.
Cheers
Andy

65 plate or newer for Euro6 as it will become an issue in years to come.

What are the issues actually going to be in the future? Is it just taxes and charges for going in to the major cities?

Yes but 15s on adblue are rare, 65s are 100 percent adblue.

I can see anything pre Euro6 being penalised in one way or another.
Also their resale value will be/is lower than anything Euro6, basically you will be future proofing yourself to some extent.
Do not forget even Euro6 is old now as I think the trucks are on Euro6D now?
Trucks went Euro6 in 2014 and cars 2016 ish.

I think a lot of manufacturers were at euro 6 well before 2016.
My friend has an 63 plate Audi Q5 and that’s E6. Land Rover were late to the party with the D4!

you have a good budget there
I recently bought an 59K miles 2014 HSE (not Euro 6) with new engine (2 yr warranty on engine) and 1 yr warranty on the car from a main dealer for just under £25K - took a while to find, I looked around for a while
You will get a high spec and a nice car if you are prepared to wait for the right one, and my advice would be go main dealer, just for the peace of mind for at least a year2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey

Just out of interest, how are you planning to sell your 59 plate? Trading in or private sale? I have one of a similar vintage which I'll be selling soon and wondered if there was much of a market to sell these privately or whether people would rather buy these vehicles from a trader.

I've just sold a 2009 D3 HSE for considerably more than a dealer offered me for it.
It was advertised on Facebook in the first instance, with the intention of advertising it elsewhere too, but i didn't need to as the first viewer bought it.Maybe i got lucky - but it's got to be worth a try!Discovery 4 HSE SDV6
