Hi all. While happily replacing my side steps today. I removed the o/s rear wheel to access the cill cover screws and investigate the rear brakes as I noticed the pads are low and the EPB made a nasty noise the other day (not that I usually use it ) any way. As I was finishing I saw a nasty sight.
Ouch. I checked and it’s split.
I have taken a look at the Haynes manual but am not happy with what I have read as it focuses on driveshaft overhaul.
What is the method of changing this gaiter please. Is it something I should be ok to do?
What advice can you give me ?
Thanks in advance guys and gals

Is it split or has it just worked loose from the securing ring because thats what it looks like from the photo.
If its not split its an easy repair. I would remove both securing rings and slide the boot up the shaft a bit so that you can clean all the contaminated grease away. Then apply some new cv grease and put the boot back in place with new securing rings. I have a local parts van that i buy the securing rings from as the cheap ones in the kits seem to be quite weak.
