2.7 TDV6 - replacing timing belt idler pulleys, bolts replac |
|
When replacing the two 1311306 idler pulleys for the front timing belt on the 2.7L TDV6 engine, should the LR004104 M10 x 24mm flange head bolt that secures it in place also be replaced or are these reusable?
I haven't seen anything indicating that the bolts are TTY (stretch type) or anything indicating that they cannot be reused, but I noticed that the LR016655 front timing belt kit includes a new bolt for the front timing belt tensioner. Not sure about an answer to your question but no doubt others will answer.
My point though is about the oil pump casing. Make sure you have the modified version otherwise all of this work will be in vein

Yep, all over that, thanks. Being a May 2012 built D4 with the 2.7L TDV6 (yeah I know I'm posting in the D3 section but that's because the 2.7 TDV6 is far more common in this area being the only D3 engine) it should already have it but will check. I always change the bolts but to be honest these are ok to re-use as like you say they are not a stretch bolt, they are only torqued to 25 nm.
