I'm getting 20psi (1.4bar) on idle
and 50psi (3.4bar) when revved:
That’s much better and good news as it makes a 0-100psi gauge suitable and there is a good choice available when connected to the sender with an extension pipe, the original plug connector wire will need to be extended.
I am looking at mounting the gauge behind the steering wheel on the column shroud.
I have a D4 by the way!It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

These figures were taken before I fitted the new oil pump. (so this one had done 110K)
The connection between the oil pump and sump/pickup was a little loose at the time (didn't know that at the time).
This resulted in it taking a while for the oil light to go out after startup, hence me putting a gauge on to find out what the pressure was during running and checking it was within spec.

Hiya
Will u be fitting one the 52mm Gauges then plse or an led monitor
If u would be so kind to post up some piccies plse when u get round to it
Wonder if there’s a lot of difference in oil pressure between the D3/4

Nice one pete sharing the figures , have u left the gauge connected or just used it temp to measure the outputs plse
Tempted to fit the one with the hose and small digital monitor, thought it shouldn’t be too difficult cutting the plug off and extending the wiring
Sometimes wonder if remapping the TDV6 increases pressure within the engine / pistons by adding more fuel etc , as always sorry for the daft question
Many thks as always in advance

I only fitted it temp. under the bonnet, and tested while stationary
Most OEM car gauges go up to a maximum of 5 bar (73psi)
the pressure relief valve operates below this figure. (around 65)

Thks Pete
See that led one I’ve been looking at goes from zero to 116 Psi and adjustable alarm
Don’t think it would be too difficult to fit, will be interesting to see what others install

This oil pressure gauge kits looks like it will fit , just ensuring the gauge goes high enough in pressure wise
Also wondering if the sensor needs to be 1/4 or 1/8 , because I’m trying to work out what fittings I need to use copper tube instead of a flexible hose Many thks ,
Edit , apologises , found it in the other link , it’s 1/4 NPT

Hiya
Does anyone know where I can get M14 x 1.5 stainless steel fittings from please, ie like a short nipple , equal tee and elbow , searched ebay for hours but can only find BSP
Also would there be any risk of electrolysis using stainless , it’s so I can then remove the existing oil pressure switch, short nipple , tee which will allow room and will eliminate the use of having any hoses
Will also get the shorter sensor as recommend and ensure I take some pics of the install
Thks again

I would use the pressure sensor from the TDV8 as it is much shorter, has the same fitting and a lower threshold (0.7 bar).

This switches at 0.25 bar, so a bit low really.
1/4 or 1/8 depends on what you want to screw it in to.#Joe
