Just here for 2 nights before heading down to Kalbarri. Will have a look at those.

Didn’t get a pic of the garlic bread, which was scrummy, but did pause long enough to get a snap of pud, mango & pineapple cheesecake. Great end to great scoff.
And just out early enough for sunset over Sharks Bay. Boooooootiful.

A few holding pics, too much of WA’s best liquid produce (red and white variety) consumed tonight.
Update time, morning/afternoon/evening all.
Poss one of the highlights of the Aussie part of the trip, Dolphin feeding at Monkey Mia. Really good, no patting the dolphins and they weren’t that keen on the food but they seemed to really enjoy the interaction with homanoids. And the cherry on the top, SWMBO got to feed one of the large mother dolphins with a calf. Mind you, she was picky as she spat out the fish offered, but still a really nice moment.

Finished the day off at the most westerly restaurant in mainland Aus. Lovely oysters, followed by a really nice steak. Loverly.

Now what these pics don’t show is the flies, they are out in droves!! We were putting the nets on before getting out of the car and then they stayed on. We passed many, many fellow tourists without that we’re really being bothered, we were fine.

Now you’d think that at the cliff line, with a good stiff breeze, there wouldn’t be an issue with flies. Completely the opposite, they were some of the worst swarms we’d seen. Head nets again working a treat, we just had to ignore what seemed like hundreds, prob dozens in reality, of the blighters on our backs. Deffo smug-R-us when passing peeps without nets. My back was prob worse!

The flies are deffo the down side of the Aussie side of the trip at the mo.
Couple of pics I forgot. This is Eagle Bluff just south of Denham where lots of sharks just swim around. And flies weren’t too bad. Bonus.
think you need some new glasses Del, those are Minos!LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I’ve caught a fish called a cobia that looks very shark like and is present in Aussie waters. That having been said it is just as likely to be sharks in Aus or Florida come to that.

Sorry folks, not much in the way of updates from Melbourne. Had a bit of a slobbing time with the odd bit of wandering around & shopping, well 1 t-shirt for about the cost of 2 ice creams. Gotta love Target!! Plus started running again, after a break of over a month, so a bit knackered!

It’s a bit of a shocker from the wall to wall blue sky in WA (excluding Albany), it was blowing a hoolie here today with horizontal rain so just stayed in. And more running.

Melbourne well and truely loves their trams, and in the central zone they are free!! Sydney has 2 weeks to get that sorted. Oldie worldie tram that does a loop around the centre. It was 31c that day so a bit of a sweatfest.

We didn’t do much here, was a bit of a r&r time as have been on the road now for almost 5 months and getting a bit knackered.
The lovely old Dakota we clocked on the way in. The ground was well marked under it with oil & fuel drips, wonder if someone was using it as a sun shade for their LR.

There was a lovely old Skycrane on the ramp but far too far away for a pic.
And loving getting through security in Aussie airports, no restrictions on liquids over 50ml malarkie. No throwing out stuff (not doing hold baggage), no looking for small containers of stuff and liquids just get packed as if we were off on the train or car. Brill. OK aerosols out for checking but that’s no problem.
Oh, and lovely fast t’interweb.

We’ve found getting connected can be pretty hit or miss. When 3G/4G when hotel weefee is useless it didn’t help that out WiFi hotspot is missing two of the Aussie bands, but our phones have them so just tethered. Mobile data (Boost) was A$10 for 35gb/28 days, plus unlimited calls within Aus & 100 minutes to a whole load of countries. Bargain.
