Back from holiday and can send confirmation photo from one side of the same section on my car.

As you can see I've considerably less rust in the area and have, as I said above, the same "unwelded" stretches that are there to stop fatigue cracking near the corner of the main frame. The seam weld comes down the side of the frame, stops, then continues along the bottom, with an other gap to the front before continuing back up front.
You will find this gap on many of the other gussets and cross members on the chassis, all designed to avoid stress cracking and enable water drain.
As I have an LPG tank and my spare wheel cover/shield is intact the photo is about as good as I could get.
