Knocking noise from engine? 3.0v6
Hello,
In the morning after the engine was started, there was such a noise ... what could it be?
Any suggestions?

If you are going to run it again, record a video clip with your phone then upload to YouTube.

Sounds a bit like when my D3’s 2.7 ran its last.
Prob spun bearings was the remote diagnosis.

I’m not a techie, best wait on others with a lot more knowledge than me. As I understand it the shells that hold the bearings in rotate and block the oil feed to one of the cylinders (no 6 I think) and things go wrong through lack of oil. I think.
To say if it’s an engine replacement is way past my pay grade I’m afraid.

If it starts and runs I'd go for checking oil level first. Also what did the car do the previous day? You say that it just started up like that, bit odd.

The later D4s had locks on the shell bearings to stop rotation, I think all were right, that it's curtains for your motor.
