Defo nothing else that could sound like that? Injectors or anything? Towed the tintent for the first time, started up and it makes EXACTLY The dame noise as the videos on the first page? I assume recovery will be required?!

Has anyone ever monitored oil temps on these engines? Would be interesting to know how hot the oil gets when the engines are being worked a bit harder towing or for a good duration on the motorway.

Only towed it 30 miles through the Cotswolds! This along with the suspension issue, I’m getting the FULL LR ownership experience
Engine temp sat nicely in the middle of the gauge as per normal driving.
One thing that makes this a really big issue if the cost of a new engine. Basically a new engine is worth more than the carIn Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

Unfortunately engine temp doesn’t always indicate high oil temps! If oil temps are getting high and degrading the oil then that could be a contributing factor. Doesn’t help you out but would be intresting to know.
I’m away with the tin tent in April and then have a few 1000 miles towing it planned this year and just hoping the same doesn’t happen!!!
I guess the other thing is oil pressure relief valve! I have no idea how it is on these engines but am thinking about issues I have had with BL’s good old ASeries engine!
There must be a common factor somewhere in all this even if it is just metal to start with!

92°C (140 km/h highway) - 118°C max during the summer (40°C and more outside, high speed highway more than 180km/h).
Read it from my IIDTool on the way.
Oil must work from 85°C up to 130°CDiscovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
