Insurance Renewal I Don’t Get It!!
It’s that time of year again.
Go Compare’s cheapest was £110 cheaper than my present insurer. Thought I’d try Compare The Market, they’re cheapest was £120 more expensive than Go Compare
Got a quote from Elephants own sight which was £110 dearer than Go Compare’s price for Elephant
Do they make it up as they go along?Discovery 4 HSE

Excesses were all pretty similar and the cheapest company was a name I recognised
As with most insurance products you don’t really know how good the product is until you have to use it.
Probably more by luck than judgment I haven’t had to claim on car insurance since the early 80’s and as long as it covers the windscreen I tend to go with the cheapest. I usually protect my no claims but reading the small print I’m not sure that’s worth it!!Discovery 4 HSE

I think some of these comparison websites are either affiliated with, or actually own one of the comparison companies and tend to front their own first.
Esure has a majority or 100% stake in Gocompare.
Confused.com owned by Admiral.
Moneysupermarket is majority owned by Aviva.

Try contacting A Plan insurance at Thatcham for a quote, a site sponsor on this site and I have found them to be very good for all our vehicles

I understand post codes and the like, but I can’t understand how 2 different comparison sites can be so far apart.
I didn’t count exactly but I would say about the first 25 prices on Go Compare were cheaper than the cheapest price on Compare the Market. I would have to visit the cinema on a regular basis to get my money back
Also how can Go Compare sell me Elephant car insurance approximately 35% cheaper than the company quote me directly Discovery 4 HSE

The annual fun and games of comparing various insurance renewal quotes and speaking to insurance companies direct.
Currently with LV who quoted nearly £700 to renew
Some time later on websites and the phone and with same level of cover, excess, windscreen cover and NCD The AA came up trumps at just under £330
I really can't understand the huge variance in quotes and how some insurance companies seem to just want to fleece the customer Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
