Warranty Direct Claim experience - very positive |
|
Here is my recent experience of a claim with Warranty Direct -
My car went to Lancaster Land Rover for a routine service, I asked them to look at knocking from the front and rear suspension.
They reported back that the front and rear ARB Bushes needed replacing and the front lower arms on both sides needed replacing, total cost to do this was £1,541.94 this includes wheel alignment. This was shown a red action on their health check sheet which means replacement required.
I have a full warranty which includes main dealer labour rates so called WD to report the claim, a very quick call registered the claim, then the dealer was asked to contact them. The next day I received a call from WD to say they would pay out in full but I would have to pay three excesses of £50.00 which seemed fair as they could have claimed that there were 4 separate jobs.
So thank you to all who recommended WD over Land Rover Approved warranty (who certainly would not cover wear and tear or worn out bushes). I highly recommend WD following my personal experience. Apparently they are a Regulated Business so have to do what they say they will - Be Warned many other Warranty Companies are not Regulated! So do everything they can not to pay out.

Great news! WD definitely seem to be making people happy on here at the moment.
But just to clarify,
Quote:Apparently they are a Regulated Business so have to do what they say they will This is what you would think, but sadly isn't the case. I used FOS towards a dispute with WD but they couldn't 'enforce' it, merely state an opinion.
Quote:
Lady from FOS wrote:"I must explain that the Financial Ombudsman Service is not a regulator; we cannot police [or] punish businesses. My role is to consider whether Pinnacle's actions to decline your claim were in line with the policy terms and conditions and moreover, fair and reasonable."
If regulations have changed in the last few years, I apologise. But I think I'd have as much sway chasing a warranty provider through the courts for breach of contract as I would via FOS.
Based on the happy people on here though, you should be fine with WD D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

The suspension work has been done and the dealer invoice was submitted to WD Claims by email on 20th June, full payment was received in my account on 2nd July, 9 working days later, no need to chase, so very happy with WD

They're quoting £2663 for 2 years for me, with all options checked, no labour limit and £200 excess, my car's a 2014 on 70k miles - does this seem expensive to others as I'm sure i've read on here people paying a fair bit less?

It seems to be all about the miles with WD. When I took my WD warranty out last year, my Disco was 3 years old with 26k miles on it , cost £1400 ish for 3 years. I did a quote for my daughter’s Mini Cooper petrol with 50k miles on it and 5 years old and was significantly more ( I recall equivalent of about £750+ a year). Just not worth it for her car, but seemed like money well spent for peace of mind for the Disco. Gary
