D5 cleaner than a Clio

WLTP data is starting to come out and it's pointing out some interesting and awkward facts.

Disco5 gets an A rating for NOx, while the Clio gets an E.

Kudos to the Ingenium team for this! Thumbs Up

Edit: for those completely unable to see past the fact it's a report in the mail*, here's the original data source

https://www.airindex.com

(*Yeah, I think it's generally execrable, but it's the one source that made it into my Google news feed with this story today)
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It looks as if they tested the 3.0l. It’s not the Ingenium, it’s the same engine as the D4. Possibly with single turbo though if TD6

I wonder if its a simple as they make it out to be?
Im not being secptical but I cant believe a car whos engine is twice the size and weighs at least twice as much and auto can be cleaner than the frenchie?

For example theres Euro 6 and then theres the latest Euro6, will have to google as I cannot remember what its called!

The Renault is a 2017 model, the Disco a 2018 model, Im sure a 2018 Renault was really hard to get hold of, you know as they are a really rare car!

Not forgetting that Reanult are tied in with Nissan and Dacia (both in the same chart) and might even supply the engines.

This is encouraging in some way and does prove the newer engines are far cleaner than the older diesels, what impact does adblue have on these readings.
If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Always a good rule of thumb Thumbs Up
 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)

Edited my original post for the smarty pants who would rather stay woke by focusing on the headline source rather than the data source

The SCR system plus the DPF plus the DOC is whats making E6 diesels so clean.
The downpipe befoe the cats is still the same old sooty dirty mess that diesels have always been, after the cats the tail pipes are totally spotless.

I can remember only 30 odd years ago standing in the shed when one of the guys had finished yet another gardner rebuild and the whole place was smoked out and we all had to go outside for a fag break Shocked
