Well I decided to go for it. Basically got £12k off the new price on a pre-reg HSE 68 plate with electrically deployable tow bar, 22” diamond cut wheels, and capability plus pack, plus surround cameras. It’s an MY19 car.
Tried wbac and their offer is exactly the same as land rover so that was that.*now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68

So how much did you chop your D4 in for at the dealers ? 12k off the D5 is a good markdown too ... sounds like you didn't have to raid the piggy bank that much then ! win-win My16 HSE Landmark - 2016 - Current. Indus Silver

Hi,
just looking at prices of Demo/6 month old cars now as thinking we may change in Sept for a 6 month old car
Pricing a D5 SE 3.0sdv6 (306) comes out at £58600 new and there are 3 Demo 68 plates about £48800 so £10k drop in first 6 months
Hope it slows down a bit after that may be not (AndrewS)

Don’t forget that if it’s on sale for £48,800 then the poor seller would be lucky to get much over £40000 from a main stealer. Don’t forget their eye watering margin.

They dont try and make loooaaaads out of us do they
I would try and sell ours pvt (or direct into trade)
and then buy pvt as you would still have 2 1/2 years manufacturer warranty,
but who privately buys new and then sells again in 6 months
reminds me I had best sign up to the D5 side of live as well Transit! 2019

You have to be careful a lot of MY18s about and that’s what some of the ‘six month old’ cars are. The first one I was offered was built and ready Feb18, but registered as a 68 plate. Also most of the diesels are the smaller engine, or poorly specc’d.
Happy with the car I found, but couldn’t get better than 26k anywhere for my 16 plate, though it is on almost 55k miles.*now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68
