So, the minimal performance requirements are very low then. I can see why they might feel it was sufficient. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4

I’m still keen to see how much the performance has improved, especially if I’m “to get with the programme” (thank you Dundonian). It has improved, hasn’t it? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

That video was some time ago and I’m struggling to find it again. Are you able to provide a link please? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

For anyone that lives somewhere rural, where it’s dark at night, of much greater importance are the laughable reversing lights. I’ve just handed back my D5 loaner again and reversing up the drive at night had to be done blind, while the usual cure of dabbing the ‘5’s ineffectual brake lights has no significant affect. None of this can be cured by upgrading bulbs.
I’m still interested by your “get with the programme” comment. Are you suggesting that this is progress, or that we should simply lower our minimum standards to suit? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

You’re a D5 hater, little point in arguing. I am amazed you accept one as a curtesy car. It’s not for everyone.
Re the reversing lights, peps on the D5 forum have successfully upgraded the reversing lights. I am rural as well, I just don’t have a problem.

I think less bright reversing lights must be the latest energy saving approach by manufacturers.
My T6 van has far less useful reversing lights than my five year older D4.
So D4 reversing lights must be very good?
Not really driven many D5’s in the dark to make comparison.
Currently trying led bulbs in the T6! Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013
Volkswagen t6 lwb Kombi dsg 4motion 2018
Volkswagen t5.1 lwb single cab tipper 2013
Discovery commercial sdv6 auto 2014 gone and not really missed.
Range Rover Tdv8 gone
Freelander 2 I6 very sadly gone
VW t5 Dsg gone and missed

Yes, I’ve seen that. Bolt on reversing lights - very “Caravan Club”. That takes me back to the early 1970’s and my old man’s Morris 1800
On the plus side, the D5 has retained the full length boot floor of the real thing, so I can get the dog ramp in, which is why it beats a DS as a loaner. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
