Unfortunately, after my colleague’s experience running a new DS over 3 years, the Ingenium engine’s tendency to have a maximum practical service life of around 70-80,000 miles would, conversely, steer me back to anything from the Dagenham or Chihuahua era.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200

I saw a FFRR TDV8 with a failed engine once, don't you drive one of them

All joking aside, it’s really unfortunate this one. He got the DS largely on the strength of my LR experience, a colleague (and friend’s) XF and X-Type and the fact that his brother works for LR. He’s really done his best with it but, since it hit around 70-80,000 miles, it’s kept dumping him at the roadside and its been a bit awkward as we’d both recommended it.
It looks like it’s an Audi for him next. Not my thing, but I can see why he won’t risk another. Such a shame 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Think he was referring to the SE brake lights rather than the HSE high line ones.

Not sure there's a difference in intensity between models ...anyway ..by the magic of vision I could tell when they were on or off quite easily.
