Have a problem with my Discovery3, TDV6, MY 2008.
The car has the EGRs blanked and patches for DPF removal and EGR blanking.
Depite the patches and the EGRs blanked I get a fault code P140A-00.
I cannot remove this when clearing codes with GAP II.
Will be a problem when I have to do the Swedish MOT test and they can read the code.
Got an answer from Flack:
"Did you remove the butterfly valve, that code points to either a stuck solenoid on sensor C, make sure its not jammed".
My answer was that the butterfly valve is removed. Also asked how to check the solenoid, but never got an answer on this.
Also from Pete:
"Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system perform the Turbo, EGR and air path dynamic test routine Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve fault Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve potentiometer signal less than minimum (sensor B) Check the exhaust gas recirculation valve and circuits. If the DTC is present on its own then check the turbo, if it’s a common fault, then the fault is an EGR wiring fault, as wiring is common. Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check - EGR Valve Position Sensor Bank B - Signal - circuit for short circuit to ground, high resistance "
Unfortunately I do not understand what to do. Thought that blanking the EGR never would give me a problem again. That the condition of the EGR was of no importance.
Do I understand the answers that despite the blanking the EGR have to be functioning?
Please help me to understand what to do.[/i]
