Low coolant Warning
Morning All,
My low coolant warning light keeps coming on, especially when I floor it for a few seconds (overtaking/ crawler lanes etc) then is stays on until I turn off the car and restart, even then, sometimes it remains on.
The level seems fine, a few mm over the max line. the only work it's had done recently was the big belt service in March, Is there a need to touch/ drain the cooling system when replacing the belts?
I've found lots in instances of this on a D3 float becoming saturated but nothing conclusive on a D4, do D4's suffer the same issue?
Any help appreciated.
It is still under used approved warranty (for another month) so I'm going to add it to the list when its at the dealer in a few weeks.Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Check the wiring also. The connector may be loose or not seated properly.
The technical approach is to give it a 'waggle' "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

I bought a new generic bottle and found the included new sensor problematic causing triggers of low coolant. I replaced the sensor with my original and it resolved it. Based on this, see if you can find a new sensor to try

Hi Browny90 - I'm interested to know if you resolved the problem? I've got a MY12 D4 and don't haver a low coolant level, but I'm seeing the same low coolant warning after accelerating up steep hills, after which it quickly disappears.

Maybe it’s just a Peak District thing 😂
It’s going into Hunters Derby on 20th July for a warranty mod up before it runs out that week..
I’m assuming it’s going to be the sensor or wiring, the important thing is that there’s coolant in there! Mine isn’t just on hills, just seems to be whenever you kick it down and pull off faster than normal it comes on. I’m going to film it if I can in the next week or two so I can show the dealship I case the car has a change of heart on the day..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

When the float went on my D3 it only triggered the low coolant message when the engine revs got above a certain point. I guess it had enough buoyancy when the water wasn’t moving about too much.
