Another Sticky Caliper

Hi guys, a couple of months ago i posted on here about a sticky caliper on NSR and it looked like it was a relatively common fault, but now it seem's i have another one on the OSF!
I had 4 new brake disks and calipers fitted around a year ago, does anyone think this could be related to the issue or is it purely coincidental?

I don't know if it's a common issue on a D4, but this is usually a caliper slide pin problem.
Always worth taking the caliper off and greasing the pins properly, checking for worn pins.
Do you happen to wash the car with a power washer? High pressure water in the caliper areas doesn't help. The car wash forecourts that have sprung up do seem to be a little harsh when I've watched them do the wheels.

alloy wheel cleaning with the acidic type cleaning products doesn't help either mate gets in all the nooks n cranny's to start corrosion issues
I would strip and clean and grease with a silicone grease , you should not have an issue a year in on new brakes alround Thumbs Up

Just replaced my rear discs on my d3 and had to replace the caliper carriers as one of the pins was seized solid even used heat to try and free it no good , you can buy replacement pins . The difference already is increased mpg from around 25 mpg to around 29 mpg .worth a look use some brake cleaner and regrease them.
I was surprised at the amount of rust around the seized pin

EPB serviced
De cat fitted
Wind deflectors
De-tango done
Tints fitted
Egr blanked

I’ve just replaced both rear calipers and have noticed a huge difference!

Do you have any warranty with the work you had done last year on your brakes?

When you get your OSF sorted it would be worth finding the cause (e.g. sliders, piston, etc) to see how it could have arisen as your callipers should still have a manufacturers warranty on them if within the 12 months if it is the calliper itself.
I have just had a new right front calliper as the piston was seized solid and the garage could not free it despite trying hard. I do jet wash my wheels quite liberally (as I think this is better for the alloy than the harsh cleaner) and did not think of avoiding the calliper. Now I have new disks and pads a the same time I will be much more careful Embarassed
