Yes to be fair to RedMerle he has consistently said that the D4 is a superior "all-rounder" vehicle than the FFRR. The FFRR suits his needs well enough, the Command driving position is very similar to the D4 and he loves the 4.4 SDV8. Just as the 2.0 Ingenium D5 suits the needs of others. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

As long as you keep telling us how wonderful the D5 is and remind us frequently of the shortcomings of anyone who dares to think otherwise, then I’d say there’s a lot of fun to be had! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

I'm always up for having fun, but I don't understand your comment about me being RM's interpreter. Not that it's spoiling my fun. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I’d take it as a compliment LT, DG’s really thanking you for helping him to keep up 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Actually, I think he maybe making assumptions rather than any factual evidence. So on that basis it's all meaningless.
Anyway, back on topic. IMO, the FFRR has the closest driving position to the D3/4. This is my opinion though and not a fact......... 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

It is wonderful ...the D2, D3 & D4 were wonderful ...I'm sure the FFRR is too
Whether its your D5 Psychosis or the unfeasibly large appendages of LT preventing D5 love ...don't worry ...I understand ...though it doesn't mean I'm going to stop projecting wonderfulness

Which is great, but you're projecting it on the D3/4 forum.
I do look at the D5 forum from time to time. I've not noticed any posts from D3/4 owners saying how much better the D3/4 is on there. I could be wrong though 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Of course one thing that causes some people D4 issues is thst they buy new cars every 2 or 3 years. Buy a D4 and run it for many happy years. Or is that not trendy? Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Oi ...point of order ....the 'Discovery 5 - L462' section is surely fair game ...and anywhere else it's mentioned first is also fair game IMO.
I spend more time here as I still help Martin keep the site tidy, but feel free to come over and we can reminisce about old times

It is said that good design needs no explanation, while poor design needs considerable oratory skill to be passed off as good, so please keep honing those skills DG
And if "projecting wonderfulness" is your thing, please keep going; it's said that love is blind! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Funnily enough, I've been registered on the D5 site for over a year now, I've made a few, all positive, contributions too Obviously not under this name
Especially AndrewS' contribution. But they are in private, amongst consenting adults, so why not?
Now DG can rack his brains trying to work out who I might be, especially as I think it was him that gave me my idea for my name on that site 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
