No, only Wranglers are still in the "old" rims and have a decent amount of life left. Hence SWMBO gave me the green light for a second set of rims. The collection has started!
ATRs on, feels a bit more surefooted on the 6 miles from gym to home. Just got to check the pressures (going for F36 and R42 as next trip is heavily loaded) and undo then retorque the nuts.
A thing of beauty.

Now just need to get the spare sorted.

I am indeed. The 5th ATR is in the garage so will leave the side door open so the lovely waft of fresh ATR can head your way. It was a heady drive down from Heeland Gaff with 5 fresh tyres in the back.

Now in the garage, they need a bit of a clean before I get them properly stored.

Not sure when they'll go back on, might even only be when the old(ish) girl goes to pastures new.

Del I’m not sure you should class the living room as proper storage! D3 x2 now gone

If it was living room storage then I'd have left the ATRs off the rims and parked them next to the sofa. For that new tyre smell.
No, they'll be secured in the shed, which is as secure as a secure thing with a side order of security. Just in case anyone wants to take advantage of my cleaning efforts.
PS Yes, they do really need cleaning, they were a bit manky a few months ago when this pic was taken. And no, I didn't take DG's advice and clean them.

Well the ATRs got their first decent outing today on the motorway. First time on 19" ATRs and on the road they are every bit as good as the 18"ers I knew so well. Just as quiet as Wranglers, grip same, feel same, mpg same. Me happy bunny.
Discerning tyre.

Just a little update. The ATRs came off yesterday, now in a column in the oil tank outhouse.
Sad pic time. Well once I get it loaded up, done via freel2.

They’ve done 14,360 miles, incl one 6k RT to N Scandinavia & 3k RT to N Poland, and are down to 7.5mm, from 10mm new. That would mean 40,200 if changed at 3mm. Very happy with them, been using them several years over prob not far off 100k miles in three D3/4s, in all conditions, and I’m really going to miss them and remember them with a smile.
I don’t know what the “new” ones are like but if they are anywhere news as good as the originals they’ll be cracking. But the original is truely the discerning tyre.
