Dog friendly hotels on the way to Porto
So it seems I will be driving the family to Porto to carry the dogs there (Boat and rental campers not available and flight in the cargo area not an option for us)
So we will drive from Kent to Porto. We will not have a lot of time for tourism so was planning to stop one night only about mid way
Does anybody knows hotel which are decent and might also accept dogs?
What is the fastest route? It takes all sorts (to make a world).

ISTR Ibis chain hotels can take dogs for a modest extra fee. Plenty of those mid way, which I'd guesstimate as a bit south of the Bordeaux.
Re route, just leg it down the peage, prob via Le Man, just follow what google maps suggests. Unless you want a bit of bimbling, now that I can help you with but you'll need time.
IBIS gets my vote too, but we’ve never had to pay extra for pooches.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Will look at Ibis immediately
Would love to have time for looking around but it will have to be as fast as possible also considering that two days before leaving I will be arriving (but I will take the boat from Santander) then we are there for the initial move from the current house to the one we have bought and then the rest will come to the house in Porto (and we need to arrive before the gornitures)It takes all sorts (to make a world).
