Well, got the D4 back from the stealers after they had it 6 days to try and fix the stop / start not working (5th go) and guess what.... still not fixed
Here is my problem, we want to sell the D4 to buy a D5 we had someone who was wanting the car but questioned the stop / start not working so we sent it in again to the stealers to be told they are unable to fix it. Its had new battery's new altenator, new modules this new modules that and its still the same.........
I have spoke with the sales person at the dealer where we purchased the D4 new just 2 years ago and he is unable to do anything, he cannot even get near the deal we have been offered on the D5 elswhere but the other dealer have refused to take the D4 in part x unless the issue is sorted
What the hell do i do, we are stuck with a car we are unable to sell unless we take a massive loss on it

I would have thought that there are many D4 owners who would be delighted if the stop/start ceased working.

I would advertise it stressing stop/start disabled.

We have, they knocked £4k off the offer price!
Apparantly its a big thing now as it will be part of the new MOT rules, effectivly we are selling a broken car that will cost thousands to fix.
Landrover are not willing to throw anymore money at it now to try and reslove the matter. MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

If I was you I would contact LR UK and explain the issue you are having I would also quote the Waranty terms and conditions then ask them to recommend a dealer who knows what they are doing!
How do you know they have replaced all the said equipment and if it has all been replaced then why does it not work! I some times turn it off then on when in the car and it then works again for a while, example just setting off on a long journey turn it off just before end of said journey switch it on again.
Hope you get it sorted. ...........One life live it..........

aren't you still in warranty for an MY16 model?
As stated it is a requirement to meet emissions for that type isn't it so how can they not agree to fix it?
the new battery was fully slow charged wasn't it? as mine used to stop with all my short journeys until i hooked the Ctek up over night. XC90 T8 R Design Pro

I see it's a 2016 car as suggested talk to LR Customer Service as it's still under warrantee.
Throw it back at the dealers from whom you purchased it and tell them to fix it., and give you a decent loan car whilst they do.
In the alternative they should take it in p/x for a new D5 (but I can't imagine why you would want to do that ) and offer you the correct price for a "correctly working" car.

I was shown the list of parts changed (Almost as a way to say WE HAVE TRIED) the warranty bill from this last week was over £5k and it is still the same.
Yes when i first got the car i would turn it off as I didnt like it, but during the summer last year we noticed it had stopped working full stop, reported it when it went in for service September last year and then they have had 5 goes at sorting it out.
I am trying to find out about the MOT link but not getting anywhere yet except being told "All functions" should work as per vehicle specification, stop/start is on the vehicle to meet EU regs for emitions law therefore it should work at all times (Same principle as EGR and DPF)
Got a meeting on Friday at the dealership that sold me the car to look at a way forward if i am not happy after that i will get customer services involved for what it is worth

Yes its a MY16 (65 plate) we wanted to keep this one for at least 4 years but we have had that many problems with it, its time for it to go and unfortunatly a D5 is the only option with our requirments.
To be fare the service department have been fab at said dealership but there hands are tied with what else Landrover will let them do under warranty.
See what happens Friday, the sales director contacted me himself about 10 mins ago to arrange the meeting MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

My one with stop start, which I detest! Was in last week for this to be fixed as the light was on full time.
They changed several parts and then changed what they called a joint or junction box. It was returned working so this maybe the answer?
It was also returned with a scuffed bumper free of charge also!

Hmmm, mine has only worked a handful of times since I bought it nearly a year ago, and when it did work was within the first couple of months of ownership, it's not worked in a long time. I had my MOT last week and mentioned it and they said I need to book it in as they'll need it for a couple of days to try and fix it, I would be miffed to say the least if they tell me they 'can't' fix it!

Mine (March 2015) hasn't worked for a while either. I really can't be bothered to make a fuss, but I would have thought LR have to fix it under warranty?
From what I see on the D5 website, they only work for a few months on the D5 too..... d4 HSE

Mine works now and then, very rarely this time of year, short journeys etc, but if all the parameters aren’t met it won’t work, therefore if I took it an MOT tomorrow, the chances are the Stop/Start wouldn't work, but a fail just because the battery is not up to full charge etc.

Interesting, mine has not worked for several months either.
It's due in for a service shortly and that is one of the things for them to look at.
