Well car is back in at the stealers tomorrow, wednesday a specialist is coming to see it and carry out some tests to try and work out whats wrong. I have been told that a handfull of D4's have had power drain issues and a seperate module has to be fitted to sort it out, mine may be one of said vehicles, we will see MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

Has your reg got a few X's in it? I've seen that one running about through Thongsbridge. I'm sure little Dave will sort problem if you are going to local dealer.

Dealers just had mine for the 3rd attempt to get the stop start working, the cars reporting low cranking voltage so they charged it but no joy. They now want me to disconnect the hardwired road angel and try that. Its on a fuse doubler on an ignition switched circuit. They said next thing is start looking for power drain as stop start wont work if voltages are low. MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Well despite my posts to say it had been working fine for weeks - it's not worked all weekend and despite 150 mile round daytime trip. Perhaps the sudden cold spell has had an influence?
Now got the Ctek on for an overnight boost so will see what tomorrow brings

Done all that.... whats the point in paying £50K+ for a vehicle if you have to put it on charge every night, may as well buy a Mitsi PHEV piece of crap MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

As long as it keeps my tax at £300 year I've never really worried about my Stop/Start not working, but if it effects resale/trade in that much perhaps I'd better try and get it sorted before my warranty runs out.
It's not only LR that seems to struggle with Stop/Start as my Fiat Ducato which Stop/Start system was far more user friendly and reliable than my D4's has just decided to play up.
But that flew through it's 1st MOT last week so no issues there yet, but now it's out of warranty it's not something I'll be addressing any time soon. Discovery 4 HSE

Disconnected the road angel and had the Ctek on all night result:low and behold still no stop start. I should also add on the 2nd attempt they replaced the Stop Start battery under warranty. Guess need to book in again, 4th time lucky maybe MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Hi all been reading these threads on Stop/ Start for awhile, Thought I’d throw my problem in the fold.
Mine seems to work ok, except some times when I come to a stop it shuts down totally Engine shutdowns and gear leaver drops down. Hell of a shock when you haven’t noticed and try and pull away. Been in a few times had software updates and new battery ( not main one ?) works for awhile then starts happening again. Dealers had it for over a week last visit, and got to take back again

Does it think your seatbelt has been released as this can cause a complete shutdown if the start/stop has already stopped the car?

Don’t think so because gear knob drops as soon as engine stops, seems to do it at same time ?

So has anyone actually had a successful fix. Mines been in twice now and the dealer really doesn't seem interested, they blame the hard wired led warning lights that are wired in, but I've tried running with them disconnected for a few weeks and no difference. Reading through the threads I see a pattern in that a long run bring it back to life for a while then as the vehicle get older even this doesn't work. I'm going to get an independent test of the batteries as my gut feeling is they are not up to the job.
Another Disco4 same age as mine runs out of the yard and that is now displaying the same problem.

My dealer sent me a video showing the laptop screen flagging a low voltage error, the car wasn't letting them go past step two of their laptop diagnostic run-through so they charged it overnight but it still doesn't work. As per my post above i disconnected the road angel and charged the normal battery using the ctek and still no joy.
Anyone know what voltages i should be checking and where?
