help needed after having a new torque converter fitted

HelloAll from south wales , ive been lurking the forum for a few years whenever ive had a problem and found the results with ease and you all seem a freindly bunch Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
so , the last problem was the tourque converter which i had fitted from a reputable company named on here many times . They did advise when they test drove that it's a tiny bit slow on occasions changing down but nothing significant . On inspection they said there is slight waer on the splines , nothing too drastic . I had the car back last week and it was fab , none of the vibrating , it was lovely to drive , like when i bought it . Four days later and i have a slight woo hoo ( please dont laugh)when in park , when i select a gear its slightly louder and when reved it increses in line with the rev range , as it does when driven .You can hardly hear it from cold but it gets worse as the car warms up . I know a few garages , ive popped in to two , and asked a friend who works with buses and they have advised first opinion would be a noisy torque converter . Would they be correct in advising that the is the only thing spinning within the gearbox on tick over ?
Or is there anything around that area which could make a simular noise from the engine ?
i'm after some advice prior to my taking the car back to the garage ,and looking like a fool as its not a rogue torque converter ?
thanks for your help in advance

Just an update on this post , the car went back and had a different ( new )torque converter fitted as they thought it was faulty . The noise is still there , they say it must be engine related .
Would anyone have any ideas , its definitely from the lower end of the engine .

thanks

I assume she drives ok with no loss of power? If so you may have to wait for the noise to manifest itself into an obvious fault.

That's right Stu , It drives perfectly . i'm just a little worried that knowing the noise is coming from the rear bottom end of the engine that i could cause further damage if it's say a crankshaft or the like . Best get it booked into my local independent LR garage for a look.

Could it be the rear exhaust crossover pipe blowing?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

What about recording the noise then others can listen rather than your description?

I’m really not sure , but they did say that the noise must be from the engine as they thought it was the gearbox , if they did have it running on the ramp you’d think they may have noticed ...
I will ask the question when I collect it

I do have recordings from when it first started , the recordings sound Censored all like it did in the cabin , I’ll try and attach them . I know on the other car forum I use you can only attach photos not video I’ll give it a go . Balls , I’m trying from an I phone but it’s only let my add pictures . Unless anyone can give me a tutorial ????

If it is about to lose it’s crank out the side of the engine, then there’s not a lot you can do about it!

The crossover pipe is apparently a real tough job to do with the gearbox in place. Lots of stories about the brackets been left off after gearbox fitting, because they are real hard to get to. Doesn’t sound like a blowing exhaust though.
