MY14 "Stop/Start" small battery replacement part no
Looks like the small 2nd battery on my MY14 is on it's way out as the orange ECO unavailable light is spending more time on than off at the moment, and I'm only seeing @10volts across the (disconnected terminals).
I took it out to find the model number to order one on line, but it isn't giving much away and has very few identification stickers on it. Searches on the usual suspects websites throw up very little clues either.
Can anyone suggest what model number it is, and point me towards a website that has them?
I know the lack of Stop/Start would please most people, and I am rather indifferent and unaffected by the light as it's hidden behind the steering wheel rim, but SWMBO is moaning it's too bright
Thanks

The small battery is not for restarting the engine after a stop. This is dealt with by the main battery. The small battery is there to maintain any systems in use on a stop. Aircon and certain other things may not allow a stop according to demand.
If your s/s is not working it is either the Gateway Module some of which are duff and are the subject of a TSB and are a pain to change, or the main battery is flat, undercharged or scrap.
Took 14 months to get my local dealership to get that. As the warranty was up they offered to change the battery for £399.
As the fault was clearly logged on my paperwork LR replaced the battery. No problems since then other than the fact I turn it off after a long run so as not to hasten the engine's demise any more than what is inevitable.
Seems far-fetched that the small battery is , just needs a charge.Mine is a MY 2014 too.
By the way, don't use that dealership any more after 10 years with them with Jags and Discos.

To conclude my experience: New Battery duly fitted. Orange Eco Light stayed off, and Stop/Start operational again.
Tested voltage across the terminals with engine running, and this was showing @13v whereas the old battery was showing @9v.
So I'd safely assume that the battery rather than the charge controller was at fault, which after 3 years you might argue isn't very long, but I suppose that is dependant on usage.
At least if the light does come on again in a short space of time, I can go to the stealer safe in the knowledge they won't charge me for a diagnostic to find that a non extended warranty item (the battery) has failed. Therefore charging me as much for the diagnostic as the battery just cost!
Oh... and the precursor to this thread.... I found the battery identification label stuck on the inside of the insulation sleeve the battery sits in!

Judging by the physical size of these batteries I'm not surprised they fail, I've got a bigger battery on my lawn mower It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

When I try and buy a EK151 on ebay etc the check compatibility system says it is not suitable for my MY16 D4!
Anyone used one on a MY16?Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done
Discovery HSE MY16 (good apart from the heating), now sold
Audi TT Roadster (wow)
MGB Roadster (owned since 1992)
Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE MY08
Saab 9-5 Aero 2002 (gone but not forgotten)

Fitted one two weeks ago, it is the correct battery, numbers have been updated, it's the correct capacity, size, terminal configuration and GSM and cost £57 from Tayna. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
