Unfortunately don't have the time to get it fixed and rather than risk it throwing a belt I'm just rolling around in the company car instead. She's looking a bit sorry for herself parked up.

Just read all 30 pages !!
Discussing the most recent acquisition ( as you do ) in the pub last night a near neighbour passed his judgment “ You do know all LR V8’s come to end of life at about 180k.” I am not sure that is right but if I am honest I do not know, so tonight read all 30 pages to see if there was evidence in the thread to support his logic. In my view no real substance to the statement, like anything depends on care and maintenance.
Maybe we have saved a scrapper? Presently in the process of “de-blinging” latest one a HSE, pictures to follow. I do get a view though that in this forum we may just be unique in UK owning two roadworthy V8’s.

Not UK but in .fi there are V8s with 400-500k km driven. Similarly, in ‘murica there are plenty with 250-350k miles on them which is roughly equivalent.
Congrats for reading the whole thread

We call it benzine, I guess UK calls it petrol and ‘murica calls it gas.

I'm in Trump-land and picked up my 06 V8 with FLRSH 3 years ago with 75k on the clock now has about 100k. I use about 1L of oil between changes and I change every 12k. The car is great. I've had don't know how many D3s and D4s (all diesel) in the UK and whilst the D4 HSE was the most comfortable, for some reason the one I love the most is my 4.4 V8.
It does need new control arms and a new wheel bearing, new tires, etc. Given that list I don't have the time to do it myself so I reckon the labour on that lot here is about $800 or so. I've had the parts/tyres for about 6 months. But otherwise she's really cheap to own because she's so easy to work on. If I had air tools and a lift I'd do the suspension, but since it'll need tracking after that lot I don't reckon I'd be saving a huge amount. (I get all my parts from LRDirect in the UK and think their service is beyond amazing).
Anyway, there are hundreds of V8s kicking around here with really high mileage. If you look after the V8 it'll just keep on going. (Thirsty cow, though, made worse by the fact she wants high test petrol).PAGODA
