Window Tinting Advice
Hi Guys
Your advice please.
I have a 57 plate Satorini Black HSE D3 and I have found a company that will tint the glass from the 'B' pillar back. It has the Almond leather interior but the loadspace is all black plastic. The tint company is saying that they can do a 5% or 15% tint. My question is what would have been done as a factory tint? I don't want it to look to 'creepy' but want the benefit of the tint for privacy.
Many thanks

I would wait for further advice, factory tint is perfect the middle windows are not as dark as the rears, I don't know what % it is! make sure it is good quality and guaranteed scratch proof. Wife has a Mini Clubman that is to dark, it is a nightmare to reverse. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

+1 ^^^
I have 5% in my disco, and it really is restricting when reversing in the dark. I went with 20% on my other cars and it's spot on.

I had factory tint 20% - No reversing issues and maintains privacy to the cargo area.

A lot is personal taste.
When I bought my D4, it had a very dark after market tint put on over the factory ones. As the vehicle is Borneville (so looks black in most light) I personally felt it looked like a hearse. So I had them remove it, and in my opinion it looks waaaay better. Visibility is also massively improved.
Any privacy requirement I have is taken care of by the load space cover.
That said, a lot of people would think I am crazy for having the tints removed, they like that blinged out look.

My brother in law once had a black X5M, with black leather, black carpet and black headlining. He then had the heavy tints added. Looking in the rear view mirrir was like trying to see into a cave.King of the typo.
MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!
Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

D4 V8 in right hand drive - shouldn't be allowed - not unless we could get them in GB
If I lived in NZ I would want solar reflective tints to keep the heat out!

Ha! I live pretty far south, so heat isn't too much of an issue.
According to my build sheet, I have 'Optikool' glass- not sure if that is some kind of thermal protection?
OP, I would be interested to know what you decide to do - along with photos, of course!King of the typo.

Hi Guys
As I expected, thanks for all your help and attached images. I can now make an informed decision. Will go for the 20% or thereabouts, looks like it will give the privacy, not be a nightmare in the dark and not look like a 'Hearse! Will try and post images once completed.
