Very tempting to say I'll meet you chaps, as we'll be very close by, at the In-laws that weekend......
One things for sure, it will be very dusty up there. I would also advise checking the Wiltshire County Council web site for byway closures

Below is a route that I have done before, starts at Westbury White horse and takes a gentle lane round the north of the live firing area before joining the mud in Tilshead. We could start at the White Horse if anybody fancies it or we could start at Tilshead, or even my place in Codford if you fancy a pre-drive brew!

The earliest I can (comfortably) meet is 10am, I can do later if that suits. Starting at Westbury White Horse sound like a good idea to me.

I've made a start at copying your (bimblephish's) route onto ViewRanger so I can follow it on my phone/tablet, the first bit to the north of Imber Range was straight forward but the bit south of Tilshead was a bit harder to guesstimate.
I've made it public so you can let me know how far off I am...

The route I did was with an owners club. It was two circles. Not too challenging (I did it easily in a freelander). There were two groups, we did one circle each and swapped over at lunch. Was my first time on the plain in decades.
I have a photocopy of the map of the route. As soon as I get home, will photograph it and post.

Hi Russ, I started checking your route against mine and it's fine up until the section at Tilshead, the route I have comes a bit further west before turning south. I have figured out how to export the gpx file from OS Maps Online so here it is if you can read it: https://we.tl/FJ0Fc2HaOY
If not then here is a zoomed in section:

Thanks, worked a treat. I uploaded the gpx file to ViewRanger and made the route public:
