As the retaining screw threads into the hub/bearing assembly (which presumably you are keeping) then you should be using the existing screws (or identical replacements).06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

The brake shield screws for D3 and D4 are all listed as M6x10mm.
For the disc retaining screws I think you are mis-reading slightly. They are listed as M10x1.5 pitch for D3 and some D4 (SYP100241), then M10x20mm (length) for other D4s (LR002080).
No length given for D3, no pitch for the D4 part. But given the hub assemblies are not different for D3/D4 of any age then the screws must be the same thread.
Perhaps there are differences with the size of the head. From pics found online the "D3" retaining screw SYP100241 looks like it could have a larger diameter head than "D4" part LR002080 but it may be the angle of the photos.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Thanks both
I'll get D4 splash shields with new D3 screws, and maybe I'll order two of each for the disc retaining bolts and see which head fits the disc best!
Any idea if I should go for D3 or D4 pad wear sensor?

New shields but the brake tell-tale is the same. Not memorised the thread pitch yet.
I take that to mean the wear sensor is the same

Would I be correct in saying the front splash shields I need to fit my 3.0 D4 calipers to my D3 are part numbers LR013666 and LR013665?!

I used the existing screws, backplate with slight modification and D3 sensor cable:thumbsup:

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thats interesting, I wonder why they say they need to be changed if you can get away without changing them
Thanks for the info, although if I know myself the way I think I do I'll end up ordering new
