Have I Done A Proper EGR Delete?

Hi All,

Reading through this forum made me realize there may be a need to remove the butterfly valve but
nothing of such was mentioned on the instruction I got from my EGR delete kit supplier.

Is this an important aspect of the delete and have I just fooled myself thinking I've DIY a proper EGR delete?

Cheers,
Mo

I bought my car 2 years ago and thought it had had a full egr delete and only 3 months ago found out it still had the butterfly in. Up to this point it had run like a pig at times and only returned about 23 to the gallon. When Flack found the butterfly still in and removed it the car has run great now returning 29 to 32 and now does not judder at low revs. It changed the driverbility of the car. So yes removed it Thumbs Up

Hmmmm,

Would try to remove it tomorrow as advised and hope I won't break anything-fingers crossed.

Thanks.

I removed mine when I blanked mine off.

I found the whole process a little tricky but doable with patience and it turned out well. If I remember well the butterfly valve wasn't too hard to remove.

I successful remove the butterfly valve without breaking anything but haven't noticed any improvement in Ave consumption, still remained at 9.6L/100KM.

Thanks
