Been out to check and I have a couple of swollen nuts
Going to order some Batfink recommended ones
I had 4 spare OEM ones in garage so ditched the locking nuts too. They were rusting up and had chewed a bit

Just ordered a set as well, mine don't look too bad but rather change them so I know they will come off when I need them to

Right, finally got round to doing the new nuts (Batfink recommended eBay jobbies)!
Really quite impressed with the quality and positive feel when torquing them up. Lovely crisp edges which fit lovely in my cheap and cheerful Clarke 22mm 6 point impact socket. I didn't use the windy tools to remove/ refit them, the impact was just there to tap onto any swollen ones... Should I have happened across any!
So, on that point, I was quite surprised to only find four proper swollen ones and one borderline. All but one of the locking nuts came off ok, with one that gave me a bit of a fright, so glad they are gone! As new, I actually think they look better than the OE ones to be honest - and they don't rattle when you touch them! How they last remains to be seen. Hope they don't rust or anything, but like I have already said, quality seems good for the price. Will keep checking then to make sure they retain the torque.
I definitely have much more confidence in the nuts now, but jacking the truck up? What a joke! Fiddly, jacking points, waffy rods which connect to the jack and just a pain in the bum to be honest! No way am I doing that on the side of the motorway in the dark! Breakdown call out as far as I am concerned! As for in the middle of the forest or a field - no chance! Where do I attach the Hi-Lift?
My current jacks aren't up to it either - the bottle Jack is too big and doesn't fit under the chassis, and the trolley tops out before the truck even knows it is there! Any recommendations anyone?
Best,
Rik.

Don't put it under the chassis, put it under lower arm, then needs hardly any liftIID PRO

It might be worth messaging the guys I got mine from as they might be able to do them in black.2006 TdV6 HSE.

That is the seller I got mine from. The other option would be to buy the silver set and paint then with something like Smoothrite maybe?2006 TdV6 HSE.

Mine have been on a month now - had a quick look today and appears to have some tarnish. Think I will have a closer look at weekend and take some photos

Mine have a slight bit of small discolourisation but that only appears to be the finish on them. It doesn't look like they will start rusting tbh. I put it down to the wheel cleaner I use.2006 TdV6 HSE.

Yes, mine are the same!
To be honest, I sort of expected this and is probably the reason why JLR went for the cosmetic caps.
