Alternatives to the crap nuts

Hello,
I have been looking at alternative to the crap wheel nuts. Something that doesn´t swell and that can be used with impact tools. I don´t want to pay silly money as well. I have found these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Disco...2394501372. Anyone with experience?

These are Bearmach ones I believe.
The Bearmach catalogue has some interesting solutions.

I've stuck to LR standard ones so far & lost count of how many I've used.
I make the point of having the larger socket in the car so I don't get caught out.

It's pretty poor for a premium vehicle that this still happens & has never been solved.

Have tried the Bearmach ones and they are just as bad as the LR genuine ones. Have lost count now how many I have changed over the years... I would really like solid nuts that can be used with impact tools.

Same here with Bearmach and other brands from AF. Some of last lot started to swell after 3 months. Now looking at ordering something else.

I bought a set of the black nuts from same seller, good solid nut with crisp hex edges. Thumbs Up
No swelling with these!

A daft Question ?.....or two.

are the Disco nuts the same as this fitted to the RRS 1 & 2 ? if not do these swell ?
are the same nuts fitted to FFRR ? if not do these swell ?

I wonder if the issue is restricted to those in the UK or Europe or the whole world ?
maybe some of our posters from distant shore have data on this ?

OK its darned awkward to get swollen nuts off - Ive resorted to hammering sockets onto them to get them off in the past. I carry in the car the socket & speeder brace just for this task

My worry is getting nuts on at the right torque so the wheels stay on.
Im surprised that this hasn't been a recall issue with a modified non-swelling nut fitted.

I wonder if our man from Customer Services wishes to comment on this matter ?

Received mine purchased from the link at the top of this topic. Ordered yesterday, arrived today.

First impressions are good. The finish is OK and the thread is nicely cut. Haven't got an M14x1.5 plug gauge, but they feel OK on a tap.

The RRS1 ones certainly suffer the same fate, sadly.

I have just ordered a set of solid rather than the capped after spending 3 hours getting just one wheel off on saturday! Not the same as the linked set at the start of this topic.

I ordered these from ebay: eBay Item No. 111810992021
 2006 TdV6 HSE.

I keep toying with a set of these: http://www.wrington.co.uk/landrover%20alloy%20wheel%20nuts.html

But £200 for a set of nuts is a bit eye watering. Shocked

Ooooh I really like those.... 8) 8)
The lot I've spent on mine surpass one simple unpolished set.

I'm making an enquiry about some for my XK...
