Aye right but the Discovery is fine so the 'Road Trip' would be in a lady Corsa or worse a 1 litre Yaris. How much fun would that be
Could always borrow your lap dog for the passenger seat and at least look the part

No, same place under the bonnet, its just the amount of recharge that differs

Mine was done by Halfords £30, they sell a DIY kit but at £60 for two charges it does not make sense to DIY.Series 1 V8
Series 2 Hibrid V8
Discovery 3 HSE V8

went to book mine in and was a min if a 2 x week wait
was worried seeing the system was at 0psi i bought a DIY kit
regassed it today and is now nice and cold , alas time will tell if i've got any leaks but didn't want to leave it empty but main priority was to get it cool in the car for the dogs ,
have done a screen shot and wondering if the experts could have a look for me plse
thks as always
also done a full fault check and it's now come back clear,

Dont forget thats two full charges most of the time you just need a wee top up.
The best bit is when they evacuate your system they remove all your gas and oil, add some more refrigerant and oil then put it all back in again plus/minus a bit to the correct weight which may only be 20 percent down on what it needs to work correctly.
I bought the top up kit, did mine and the wifes car, weighing the bottle on scales before and after, then check and adjusted them again 12 mths later and theres still some left, so can pay in the right circumstances.
Ive worked with a few guys when we used to do a/c before fgas got tighter and I was always amazed that not one of them put any pag oil back in the system!

my aircon hasn't worked for about a year jut put iid tool on and its showing 50 kilo pascels ,
fault code B1B78-84(2F) I take it it needs a regas ,as if it had no gas at all it would read zero .
I know I'm dumb lol

Doing a 'top up' with diy bottles is a bit like doing an engine oil change and pouring the oil in with your eyes shut. how do you know you have the correct weight of gas in the system?
Also the sealers they put in the bottles to plug leaks can clog up not only the air con system but the regas machines too.
A proper recover, leak test, evacuate for at least 20 mins or longer to get rid of the moisture, then recharge the correct weight, add pag oil and some dye for future leak detection is the best way forward.
Regards
Steve

Need to do mine.
Was super cold when I bought the car so I turned it off (it was October) so I assume a leak. Have no pressure or motor current on the IDD tool.
Any recommendations for the Southampton / Hampshire area?
