Doesn't a chassis number with 7a blah blah mean Euro 4 ? Mine is 56 plate but 07 model year, 7a chassis so euro 4.

On a 2007 chances are the engine management light will come on. Mine passed 2 MOTs like that. Others have reported various issues if you don't get the EGR patch applied but mine was fine bar the light.

If you have an IID Tool you can apply the patch yourself - it's about £180 from BAS. Otherwise a site sponsor can do it for you.

If mine and other 7a are euro 4 then I would assume an 8a chassis would definitely. When did dpf come in because afaik you cannot blank the systems with dpf.

You will not have a DPF. Mine was an 09 and had no DPF. DPFs, at least on UK cars, didn't come in until later. Just blank it and then get the EGR patch done at a later date. Or take it to DM - he will definitely be able to sort you out.

Yes. He's a fair way from you though if you're in Airdrie. Do you need a service and your belts doing as well? Shocked

Mine is a 2007, blanked the EGR and then from ID tool erase the fault, engine is running ok with no lights (almost one year now). EGRs were working properly.
question is: since the light is not on do i still need the patch? and also i've hearing that blanking the EGR will result into turbo disaster, is that true?
