HonestTony

At 47k mikes....with no transmission faults
You are in the perfect place to flush out & change the transmission fluid + DrTranny.

I envy you with so few miles !

If you don't do this you are taking a risk & stacking up a costly to fix issue that will bite you in the ar$e....eventually.
 BREXIT - done properly.

Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

No need for pressure pumps with rubber seals that dissolve in oil, simply suspend an oil container above the engine the higher the better and let gravity do it, I've used this method successfully twice, it just takes a little longer Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Why add Dr Tranny if it's working well with no faults etc? Surely just adding the correct spec of oil is the way to go here?

yeap. No point if putting Dr.T in a 47K gearbox.

In fact you would probably want to put genuine ZF lifeguard oil in.
You should get your moneys worth out of it.

My preference in an engine oil is the makers spec without additives...every time
However - In my D3 transmission I'd opt to add Dr Tranny at the first fluid change In this case at 47k
If not the usual:

Then the Protectant..
http://www.lubegard.com/%7E/C-112/LUBEGARD...Protectant

Why ? As a preventative measure.
If it does what It's said to do - may be worth it.
But that's me....prevention is usually better & lower cost than eventual cure.
Anything that's prevents the issues many have seen & are seeing with D3/4 auto transmissions
- mine went tits up at 92k
 BREXIT - done properly.
