Had something similar with a rear door . Turned out to be a door motor or something like that

You may need a new latch, mine's been replaced twice. Seemingly quite a common "issue".

Very common, reqs. new latch assy.
If you need to open the door though, try pressing the unlock button repeatedly, and at the same time, pull the handle to open the door. Sometimes takes a but of time, but usually works
