Restricted Performance

Keep getting 'Restricted Performance' with a Red dash light - then fault clears, but soon returns - serious lack of power

Currently sat with local Indy who is working through faults - believes the Turbo may be blowing back into the air box

Any thoughts??

Cracked inlet manifold? Do a search. Plenty of chatter on here about it. Mine went that way.

Thumbs Up

Thanks - if the manifold is cracked - wouldn't that mean the fault was consistent rather than intermittent?

Don't forget the TSB that's in place. You might just get something out of JLR towards the fix Whistle

Not wanting to trivialise your issues here but thought I'd share this .

SWMBO took my D4 to the local hand car wash yesterday and when I drove it later it seemed a bit unresponsive ... needed a hefty press on the accelerator to get normal performance. I was just starting to think of how they'd got water in places it shouldn't get when I remembered she said they'd power-washed the rubber mats.

quick look this morning in daylight and lo-and-behold ... mats fitted wrong sides, rubber nicely tucked up behind pedal.

nice to have a simple and cost-free fix on a Disco !

Thanks, but sadly not the case

Just had call with Indy - if it is Manifold, not showing, but going to keep overnight and test AM on the road under speed and load as cannot get fault to show up under testing in garage. Tested all other usual suspects (MAP / MAF sensors etc.)

Thanks for replies thus far Thumbs Up fingers crossed that (a) they can diagnose and (b) it wont involve selling an organ to fix

As above. TSOV is a known issue, the actuator seizes up Thumbs Up

At one point, JLR issued a low level repair, consisting of a new actuator. Now it seems you can only buy a complete new unit Rolling Eyes
