D3 and D4 together for the last time
D3 goes tomorrow so last time they will be together.
I have had the D3 for 7 and a bit years and she has been a truly reliable work horse, only letting me down twice, once through neglect of previous owner and once through natural causes.
I will miss the old girl.

Think of it as a new life for D3. Just the other day saw my much loved and missed E280 in the local garage, new owner is caring for "her" and obviously likes it as much as I did. Gave me a bit of a lift.D3 2.7 Zermatt silver (not another one)

Great picture and they both look good.
I'm quite attached to my old D3 as well.
Luckily one of my clients has hired it for a year so I haven't had to sell it yet.
It's not a great picture but here they are together.
D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.
Defender 2002 Td5 Commercial, had a hard life but slowly being restored.
I only work so I can afford to repair my Land Rovers!
You guys make me hesitate selling my old D3
It's going to hurt so much ..
11 years of my life .. countless hours, over 400k km .. travelled quite some countries .. sigh ..D4

Lucky to have both on the drive. Same with me, almost 11 years, 160k miles, lots of trips in 20 countries and two continents, she'll be with me until she or I fall apart fully. My man maths show it's a sensible thing to do, keep both. Yeah right!!

Must get a better pic but it's only a small drive and I have to squeeze 2 x Jazzez on there as well.

I also thought about getting rid of my D3 when I bought my D4, the D3 has been totally reliable and has transported my family around the UK in comfort and safety and currently has 160k on the clock
I ended up selling it to my business so it's now my work vehicle and the new D4 is the family car

DSL I have to say seeing them together... and I mean it....that it's nicer the D3, "he" evokes the good times in which this car surprised everybody... and, sorry, the D4 was a rehash that killed the elf!! and the only advantage I can see is that is newer!!lost in translation!

The D4 is an improvement in some ways, a step backwards in a few, especially practicality in the cabin. I like driving both but actually think the D3 is more comfy. I think of the D4 as a pair of stiff brogues, the D4 as a comfy pair of well broken-in hiking boots.
Careful, you'll get me into trouble as I might slip in the "facelift" word in there.

See the wife's initials didn't get put on the D4. Surprised she let you do that. Be a nice gesture if you got them swapped around.

I agree with what you say DSL, being lucky enough to own both I have been able to compare them - the D4 has 15k and the D3 has 160k on the clock, the D4 is a lot more luxurious and powerful and a lovely place to sit when driving, the D3 is practical with easy to clean hard wearing surfaces, not as powerful but I sometimes think it's smoother and more comfortable Current:

I did suggest that but SWMBO thought it wasn't a waste of money. Mind you, she has a DSL plate on her car so if I swapped that I would have 2 Discos with consequitive plates. Hmmmmmm, a plan could be hatched.
PS Mentioned it to SWMBO when walking the dogs, just got that look.
