Update, I'm gonna give it a bash doing the key myself, so battery and new case come today meanwhile I stripped the old one down when I got back from work and found....
I noticed the break in the solder straight away, pushed it together pressed unlock and the lights flash.
should I just resolder ? The battery looks brand new

I can't see but, yes
if you can see a broken joint, that when pressed makes the thing work, resolder it.
Don't overheat the joint, quit while ahead

Got it soldered back together, flashes the locking just gonna assemble the key and hopefully the car fires up!
