The prices of near new Disco 4's
Back in November, I bought an 11 month old HSE Luxury, with 12,900 miles on the clock.
I've been watching the asking prices for these (and Landmarks) on LR's used stock list and these prices have been rising. On top of that, WBAC is offering me at least what they offered back in November, despite the winter having been and (almost) gone and despite the fact that it now has 23,250 miles on it, an additional owner and a new Disco now being available.
Surprising...

According to my dealer nearly new D4s should see a slight rise in value for a few months despite the D5 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Had a wander round a couple of D5s today and it doesn't look well proportioned at all.
Even the kids said the rear end just looks ugly.
Also the dealer had literally hundreds of Discovery Sports which tells you something.
(I reserve the right to change my mind if I buy one in a few years)

Though, to be fair, they would have had their "inspection" back in November as well, so we're still comparing like with like
I'm unlikely to ever sell a car to them, but it's a darn useful valuation service

Sadly no one is going to care about the D4 in a year from now. Only the D4 worshipers.

This is a means of transport, not an investment vehicle
So, buy what you like and ENJOY
For me its a rollercoaster of thoughts, but eventually I think I'll stick with my 2006 D3 and run it until its beyond repair. Given the CO2 hoax and cities closing entrance to diesel cars, plus that petrol versions of new cars are here even more exessively over-taxed, my hope is for an
" I-D " [ nice name by the way].. ..
Hoping for €€€€€ as a trade-in premium on the old lady in a few years, it hopefully all gravitates to a happy transition to a new motor...

I was thinking the same thing, I'm just concerned that on it's way into the ground each point of pausing that progress is gonna be damn expensive Dave
