My 07 Black HSE
Here is my 2007 TDV6 HSE. I picked it up a month ago yesterday after a couple of months with a Freelander 2 (great car, just not for me!) and so far, I love it.
I don't have a huge list of things *yet* for it, but no doubt that will change. At the moment I am just enjoying it and looking forward to getting it nice and muddy.
It's MOT is due in a week or two, so providing it sails through that (which it should) I might start looking at a couple of little treats for it soon!

Thanks chaps. As far as "modifications" go, there probably won't be any styling changes. I actually really like the look of the D3 in its original form, the only things I have changed are the number plate bulbs to LEDs and I'll probably do the same with the sidelights. I do however want to add a few removable options such as a roof rack, ladder and eventually a spare set of wheels with better tyres and then various accessories to go along with that kit.

As Irwin asks, you do need to check if your 'new' D3 has got the later type oil pump. Unfortunately, Discovery's of this era have been known (on occasion) to have a problem with the oil pump casing fracturing with disastrous results.
May I suggest that you have a look at some of the posts on here relating to oil pumps.
I have an 07 SE and I have changed my pump for the later one as peace of mind. Did it and changed the timing belts as well.
Your HSE looks the dogs b's and I'm with you on keeping most of the original style too! 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Thanks for the advice from both yourself and Irwin, I will look into it as soon as I can. Looking through the service history I can see that it has been properly serviced and the belt has been changed but I have not bene looking out for the oil pump as of yet, so I will now! Is there an obvious way of knowing by looking under the bonnet?
Thanks

Unfortunately it is a bit of work to actually see the oil pump. Viscous fan has to come off together with the ancillary belt to get to the timing belt cover.
It would be interesting to find out if it would be possible to poke a scope in to check the type of pump fitted.

I used a little USB endoscope camera to check mine (was the new type), took loads of screen shots whilst doing it just in case I ever needed to prove it was a good one. A bit fiddly but easy to do without having to take everything off.

RCmike, can you explain the route you pushed your camera in and show images that identify it as a new pump so others can check? I for one would be grateful...
