I spy a PH smilie on the tailgate.
Plenty of choice for roof rack, ladder etc.
Front Front Runner, Prospeed etc, all have good and bad points.
I would check the history for proof of belts change and call them to see.
If in doubt, change it out. Cheaper to change a pump, than an engine.
Plus i would get the autobox oil changed as that's likely going to need changed.

Well spotted. Been on there a few years now from when I used to play with supercars and luxury barges.
I think I'll probably do just that get it changed out while it's in for its MOT. It's under a warranty from where I bought it from but we all know what that's worth...

welldriven wrote:Thanks chaps. As far as "modifications" go, there probably won't be any styling changes. I actually really like the look of the D3 in its original form,
It looks great, enjoy.
But you do have Discovery 4 long silver roof rails that were never available for the Discovery 3

I don't know. I assumed it was all factory but I may be wrong.

The roof rails would stop before the roof step, you have the extended ones which come further forward.
A nice and subtle mod.
Mot it, change the pump and box oil, then start from there. They do look good as stock.
But then, they do look good with the off road/overland look to them.
Don't fit chrome, chrome looks
I used to have a smilie on mine, should get another as i'm still on there. Same name.

Ah that makes sense. And I agree with chrome, I won't be doing anything cosmetic like that - if I was going to do anything, I would do the opposite and black out the existing brushed ali stuff and the wheels to make it all black.
My username on there is jimmymidnight but I have not posted for a while. I still go along to the Sunday Services though when I can.
I'll get all the oil pump stuff looked into over the next few days and I'll get it all booked in if needs be when its MOT is due next week.

Hi, I'll start a new thread with a description and the pics in a few days time when I'm back home.

So I've gone through the history of the cat and there's nothing obvious that says the pump has been replaced so I'm going to order a new one. Does anyone know a good supplier of the correct one I need to order?
Thanks

Depends - I fitted a Bearmach non original pump and it leaked at the crankshaft seal. I believe this had happened to a few who had fitted this pump. I got a FoMoCo genuine pump as fitted to Citroens from DiscoMikey. It was half the price of the same item from LR.
If you're reading this Mike, perhaps you could comment.
Welldriven, try a pm to DiscoMikey to see if he has any pumps in stock. He only stocks FoMoCo pumps as far as I am aware. Top bloke, there isn't a lot he doesn't know about the D3. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Ok thanks, I am trying to find DiscoMikey but it's proving quite unsuccessful (no doubt in my mind that I am doing something wrong!)

Click on 'sponsers' at the top right of the page. His details should be there.
On the line below there is a heading PMs.
Personally I would go for he genuine FoMoCo pump from Citroen or Peugeot. If you get it from LR it will cost double for the identical part.
Good luck. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Thanks again guys. I have found him and dropped him a message. Hopefully I can get this sorted by next week and then I can start spending money on more important things like off road goodies...
