Where? As Geoff said, have they cracked the valve issue?

theres no way of electronically cracking the valve issue it just can't be done , and with the temperatures that the valve opens and shuts its not possible to do a traditional flush sorry to say.
I've spent 4.5k on the latest flush machine with temperature monitoring on it and its still not do able with out adapting pipework, i have all the pipework ready to adapt but lost my dear friend to cancer 6 months ago who could weld butter if needed alas I've just not got round to bending and welding the alloy pipework can't find anybody good enough to do it with me

Any updates? Was it a flush machine or simply a drain and fill? Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Picked up the D4 this morning, confirmed had a Megaflush done, having now driven it can confirm happy as no longer have a vibration when holding on foot brake in traffic, gear changes are so smooth, no jerkiness run it in both standard and sport, down changes quick and smooth no hesitancy when given the beans after some prawn tried to shut down my lane change overtake on the motorway, gentle pooling about don't even know it's changing gear. Ideally would have had this done before now as 139k is a lot on original fluid, but when no one could do it not even the Legend that is Geoff what do you do. Commercial SDV6 8 Speed 255

This was carried out by Bristol Transmissions, they have a new piece of kit which it seems enables them to overcome the thermostatic valve issues. When I contacted them they initially asked if they could come back to me, when they did they laid their cards on the table and proposed a deal based upon leaving my D4 with them for a couple of days for the work to be done and as a training exercise. I believe that the cost of a ega flush on the 8 speed is around £400.00 + the vodka &a tonic. I now know that they have done 2 D4 with the 8 speed auto box now mine and another.
I have to be honest and say thus far Bristol Transmissions have been great and I would not hesitate in recommending them and using them again for the D4 or any of my other vehicles. Really appreciated that they laid their cards on the table at the outset, they did not have too and could have acted as if they had done countless D4 with the 8 speed but then that would have certainlyaroused suspicion for me.
Hope this helps and reassures anyone else considering a Megaflush on the 8 speed be it D4 , RRS or FFRR. Commercial SDV6 8 Speed 255

Good to hear a glowing report for Bristol Transmissions as I've taken my D3 there today for a new torque converter fitting and gearbox fish and new steel sump
