Hi Rob,

Just done 102k without issue. Mostly motorway type miles.

My 2010 Discovery 4 has just developed a shudder at 1600rpm which disappears when you push it across into S mode and the revs jump to 2000rpm. Reading up on here and joining this forum today I take it needs a double flush, which hopefully wont turn into a new TC.
It doesn't vibrate below 1600rpm and it doesn't vibrate above 1600rpm, and no other fault calls. Gear changes seem ok.

where abouts in sussex are you ?

Can't help but agree. 4litres ravenol 6hp around £35, 1 litre 8hp £30. This is not trade but the ratio will be the same.

I would assume as BT are a proper workshop they would buy in larger quantities ie 205 barrels.
I can find Ravenol 8HP for 19.5gbp per litre if bought in 20 litre tub, so its logical that larger qty ie 205 will be less still?
We buy oil and all our parts in large quantities and its scary how much cheaper it is than retail prices.

Obviously I dont know what their mark up on lubes is.

i buy a lot of trans fluid and the the cheapest i can get the 8 spd fluid for is 19.50 per ltr

my point is , they've said its 8 spd fluid how can you tell i wouldn't be happy at all

and you need 11 ltrs aprox to flush through

Flushed with Success!

Geoff was 20 mins early to my house on Sunday, and he investigated the old transmission oil to see what delights it held.
Luckily it wasn't exhibiting signs of debris and didn't smell burnt. It was dark and a bit thick.
Thanks to his know how and his oil exchange machine the fluid was flushed and replaced with clean ATF.
Needles to say I am happy to report that the transmission judder at 1600rpm has completely gone.
Many thanks Geoff for excellent service and a job well done. Thumbs Up
