cb aerial mount
hi
been looking through the forum and can't seem to find it
saw where a D3 owner had removed the blank where the shark aerial goes and fitted a cb aerial base in its place
it looked like a large black rubber clamp , about 3-4 inches round
going to fit a cb into the top glove box
got a tti 900
been looking at the types and positions of aerials on the D3s
or maybe getting a magnount , but the wire will be on the outside then
as i will be dropping the headlining i thought it would be an ideal time to fit a cb aerial mount , keeping the wire inside the landy
so wish to make sure i fit the correct one
can then easily unscrew the aerial when it's not in use or going into car parks etc
as mines the base model i won't have the roof rack bolts , havent got any sunroofs
massive thks as always

If you are looking for some rails, then I have some old rails I took off to fit my roof rack. But the small black caps broke off when I remove them, otherwise all there. How does £20 sound? Plus I'll be in Kent the weekend of 25/26 so could meet up.
Cheers
John

I believe they are short rails. The rails only fit on the raised section of the roof.

These are the caps. I have 5 but are not in good condition. Not sure if these can be purchase separately. If you bought any secondhand rails I would be surprised that they would be ok, as they get brittle in the sun, and when trying to remove them they crack.
The 25th suits me better.

I used 'penny' washers in the rail slots to hold the bolt in place for bracket mountsDave
