When you remove the rail covers, they have to be cut to allow the remainder to fit.
1525mm is the measurement from the rear of them, straight length is then not used as the rails cover that part, the remainder is simply clicked back into place on the front part of the roof not covered by the rails

RLD does a mount that looks a lot like that but IMO better.
I have one on my D3. It's a dawdle to fit and I have it right at the back just in like the picture so that there is a minimum of exposed cable.

nice one , bless u for that
i have sent uncle ray a pm, so will wait to hear from his good self ref the mounts when he has a free moment
would be good if i'm able to easily fold it down , with like a wing nut system, for going into car parks etc or tight off road places

The version I have doesn't have a wing nut. It uses alan bolts. I keep the alan keys in the cubby by the back door.
It only needs slackening off a little to fold it down, takes about 5 seconds and looks much neater than a wing nut.

You can get quick disconnects for your antenna.

sounds perfect , thks
can then later on work out the cable routes
either through the gps roof hole or down behind the back light
as the headlining is coming out, will see how viable it is, making up some form of clamp system with rubber and sealant between the roof and plate , so there is then no possibility of it leaking
surprising owning a land rover in how inventive u have to be at times
