Andi, I changed the high end system in my D3 by simply bypassing the MOST bus. I lost the amp, but the new system had plenty of power so it wasn't a problem, and more than made up for with BT, nav, MP3, DAB, camera, etc. I bought a dead amp to remove the speaker output socket, which I terminated the new output extension leads with to patch into the original speaker wires below the driver's seat. It worked perfectly, though I have just removed it and refitted the original system with no problems (resale looming).
The unit I used was an Xtrons double DIN. You will have to trim some of the plastics behind the original stereo, but it has no negative effect. I also fitted a Garmin unit in place of the original nav screen.
