I suppose the car is around 7 years of age.

Look for the xtra work LR dealers have done if it was in regular service. EPB can be an issue as well as transmission.

Have him change the transmission oil if it is an SE auto. Changing the diff oils can easily be done by yourself.

A major setback might be the wishbones and the wheel bearings in the front. The air compressor for the suspension is a potential source of trouble.

Have him read the CCF file and ask if an AMK compressor is fitted. If not this will be another potential source of trouble.

many other things can happen. Always expect the unexpected so.

6 months ago I bought a 09 with 65k on it.

1) Make sure they change BOTH belts and use genuine LR parts
2) Test drive and jab the brakes repeatedly at very low speeds (a metallic clunking sound indicates that the lower front suspension arms need replacing - and quite possibly the front and rear anti roll bushes too). - Quite an expensive job due to labour requirements to get the damn things off
3) After the engine is warm accelerate and check for excessive smoke as this can be indicative of EGR valve failure as they go around 80-90k usually (or sooner). EGR Valves cost around £500 - 750 to replace both depending on where you go (more at a main dealership).
4) Plug in a diagnostic computer and check for recent fault codes that may have been cleared off (can include the EGR valve failure codes

These are the ones I got caught out by as I've had to replace them all last month!

Good luck!

Ones I missed...
Check "all" radio buttons work (one stuck/broken and a tad fiddly to replace).
Check towing electrics if fitted work as they should (thought I had a 13 pin and 7 pin until I needed to use them finding half wired to the 13 pin and lights on the other Banging Head not much cop for my caravan).

Whilst they are doing the belts I would have them replace the oil pump.

It will be interesting to see what the new MoT says about the previous report of play in bushes.

Seems a bit expensive to me, but it's maybe not too far off on price if they do belts and oil pump (£650-800).

Never noticed that, similar to the fact I never noticed that the bush advisories were nearly 4 years ago!

Very Happy

Mileage looks like it could be an error on the system or a wrong reg number input during an MoT.
Is that from a HPI check? HAve you checked the MoT info online direct?

What dealer is it at?

I might be in the North side of GLasgow tomorrow...
