seats , accelerator pedal position
hi
wondering if u would be so kind to help me please
a few years ago i suffered a massive back injury and ended up with pins and screws in my back, which left my left leg weak
my new d3 being an auto is great , however for some reason i find that my right leg hurts after a while on the accelerator pedal
i've only got a base 7 x cloth seat model
may i ask does the accelerator pedal have any form of adjustment please
as u go up the models how do the seats compare in the way of comfort, understand they may go to electric but not to bothered about that
unless it's the electric ones that are the most comfortable
have raised my seat up abit and noticed it just raises at the back, do the better seats lift at the front and back plse
will upgrade later to the cruise control retrofit after reading the great write up
many thks in advance

Someone more in the know may be along soon with more info, but, I have an 09 HSE, with electric, heated seats, and on mine the base of the seat, goes up and down, at the front and the back and also has lumbar support which may help...! Hope that makes sense? Psycho by name, chilled by nature....!
May be a shot in the dark but i had a similar problem, after a long journey my right leg would hurt so i looked at the pedals and they had been altered for a right leg amputee so the pedals were further over to the left, got to be worth a look, i have the HSE and seat base lifts at front as well as back and also lumber support plus memory seats so when i have it spot on i can save the best position i have 3 positions set 2 for me one for the wife that way im always comfortable, good luck sorting thisRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

My first D3 was a S model with manual adjust seats. I could not get comfortable, with back , neck and shoulder pain after about 2 hrs driving . The main problem was the lack of separate tilt on the cushion. The cushion angle changes with the seat height setting as it on an unequal four bar link.
Changed to a second hand HSE & never looked back. The micro adjustment and extra axis movement on the cushion made all the difference.

IMHO there is a massive difference in the comfort and precise adjustment of electric seats, I would never go back to manual adjustment, manual adjustment is regulated by notches, i.e. 25mm up or down, electric is can be as little as 1mm.
Also the biggest friend you could have is CC, I find it indispensable even on short journeys to give your right leg a rest.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

that's great, bless u for the replies
daft question do they do the hse in cloth or is it only in leather plse
reason is so it can match up with the rest of the interior as that's cloth
seen some lovely seat sets but they are in the 2k mark
so ideally would like to just replace the front seats
will have a search to see what's involved going from manual to electric
thks again

My spine is also held together with metal and both my legs are serverly weakened to the point I can't walk far without either collapsing or just locking solid.
I have a SE with leather elec adjustment and it's very comfy, however I still get very bad right leg pain on longer journeys.
I've set the seat to be slightly bucket like with the front lifted higher than the back which seems to provide the best support but I think it's a fact of life for me that I'll always be in pain no matter what.

Anything over an hour driving and my right leg gets painful. I fitted CC and use it any chance I get
Deff worth fitting while you are deciding about the seat. 15-20minute job.
I would think that cruise would be of great Benifit to you chaps. I have quite bad back pain and on long journeys cruise helps greatly. I also have to say to the op that the heated leather with full electric would make a big difference.

One other advantage of the electric seats with memory is I can move the seat perhaps a mm one way or the other if I get a twinge when driving, which will often relive the pressure. I can then hit the memory button and it goes back to my original settings to start the next journey.

well fitted the cc and thanks to u guys does indeed make it nicer
when i get round to it , after my cam belts are done , i'm thinking of the following
getting two front second hand electric seats
so i can have the the height adjustment by four corners and not just the back on the manual seats
but, if i bought front leather seats u would have to change the rest, this may sound mad but
can u take the leather covers off then put the cloth covers back on from my existing seats therefore will match the rest of the seats
have an electric seat but just in cloth , wouldn't be bothered about having the memory function
did think at one point of maybe buying just an electric base , allowing the four corner height adjustment then just putting my manual seat back on top , know i would still have to adjust it manually but have the height adjustment electrically
can therefore having the front height adjustment can get it to support the back of ur knees
just thinking of different ways
main outcome is to have full height adjustment front and back on the frame and not being tilted forward when adjusting the height currently on my manual seats
just wondered if it's been done plse
many thanks as always guys
yeh i know i'm mad and need to keep taking the medication
