£145 + VAT less discount. Plus 30 mins programming which I should be able to do. Not the cheapest way of doing it, just looking into it atm.
Which LR dealer Del?
My woes on this:
£20 ebay one - didn't work (ordered before getting forum reports of not working), worth a punt as I needed the new casing for the working key.
£65 Autotoolscan - didn't work (tried a number of times)
£63 ebay UK seller - 1st time failed, 2nd time failed, 3rd go - the IID tool said succeeded/ operation completed. Tried to start the engine but it wouldn't fire up, un/locking wouldn't work. Went through the sequence again and said it failed. Assume the virgin key now has a "code" and therefore is "used", it won't take to reprogramming again.
Started to get nervous with the amount of times I had gone through the sequence (as strictly per the IID guide how to & watching the Youtube vid) with the first/ original working key.
So I rather take the car & working key to a dealer now and get them to supply & programme a new fob.

What was I worrying about, just like in the vid and a piece of cake. Thanks for all the support chaps and many, many to Pat and the mighty IID BT.
Now just got to get that stupid little ring on the key. Time to programme the new key, about 20 seconds, time to get the ring on about as long as it takes SWMBO when I get home.
So, Del, begs the question, how much do you charge for the new key service now that your a qualified injuneer In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

Waaaaaaaaaay to much responsibility for me. As Dirty Harry would say, man's got to know his limitations.

Can a Key which has been previously programmed to another car be used?
On a D4 only, the BCM on a D3 will not accept a used key. It's seems to be a bit random with far east suppliers for D3s, some will work, some wont and some purchased from a reliable source change them and they dont work anymore...

Pat,
The guy I bought the used key off "wiped" the previous coding and advised that it would work like a new key (which it did).
First time may I add.

James, the service guru in Guava, couldn't believe that in the three minutes it took me to go out, get bored with the video, fire up the IID, pair it to the ipad, do the deed then head back in and sit back in front of him I'd programmed a new key. Proof of the pudding was shown with a press of the nice shiny new button.
